Over decades, denim has been redesigned, restyled, and most recently, resurged completely for the spring/summer 2014 season. Seen on the runways of DKNY and Balmain to Jill Stuart and Louis Vuitton, denim hasn't received this much attention since Brooke Shield’s racy Calvin Klein ad back in the 80’s.

What began in 1873 as a simple pair of Levi 501’s has now inspired dozens of designers to create denim dresses, shirts, overalls, and even swimsuits. They've been acid washed, stone washed, embossed and embellished. Destroyed and patched back up to add yet another stitch of personalization. We’ve cut them, cropped them, and rocked them with literally every other trend in the books. So, in honour of the denim resurgence this season, we’re getting back to the basics – with vintage Levi’s jeans.   vintage_denim_trend Straying from the stubborn skinny jean, vintage Levi’s are relaxed, on trend, and easily styled for the look of your choice. We love them with a pair of ankle strap heels, a crop top and a layer of plaid. Or, pair them with converse, a cotton tee and a leather moto jacket for a casual, chic vibe.

Don’t let the so-called “rules” limit you – rules were meant to be broken, and this season denim on denim has gone from oppressive to impressive. Whether you prefer the full size version or the cropped shorts donned by celebrities such as Chloe Sevigny and Alexa Chung, Levi’s jeans offer the perfect base to build a look entirely your own.   shop_denim
